Hi! Welcome to Daisies and Chalk!
This is my place to reflect, ramble, and collaborate with educators around the globe about the elementary classroom. I am passionate about teaching, my family, and my faith. This strive for balance has led to my creation of The Path to Passionate Teaching: a tool that allows me to be a creative, effective educator without spending all my time working on my classroom. I love anchor charts, classroom games, interactive notebooks, project-based learning, and reading. I have taught grades 3-6 and am currently teaching 6th grade ELA.
Who am I?
My name is Misty Judd. I am an elementary teacher in Illinois. I began teaching in 1997 as a private kindergarten teacher. I was not licensed but I loved working with the students but kinder was not where my heart was. I left teaching, had my children, and then went back to school to fulfill my dream of teaching middle elementary. In 2007, I went back into the classroom as a fully licensed teacher! I am so incredibly blessed to have fulfilled my dream!
Faith, Family, and Education are my 3 favorite things and you'll read a lot about them if you follow me on social media. For now..
A Little Bit About My Family
I am blessed to be married to my best friend and the mama of our 5 children (2 girls and 3 boys). To add to our joy, we now have 2 amazing sons-in-law.
Family Tradition: the backwards photo. Why? Because we all hate our photo being taken.
